Birth Place: Blacktown Year of Birth: 1967
Background: Stacey Brasher comes from Dubbo, New South Wales. She is from the Wiradjuri tribe and she also grew up in Black Heath, in the Blue Mountains. The basis of her work is about the animals from those areas. She studied at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT), at Reid Campus during 1996- 97. Where she gained a Certificate III in Aboriginal Art and Fashion. Her work was shown in the fashion parade at Ridges Hotel, along side other Aboriginal designers and the graduating students from the School of Design, CIT.
Stacey has volunteered her time, working and teaching art workshops with the elderly and the disable for many years at Nations Heart, Christian Church in Belconnen, ACT. The mediums she has worked with are painting, pottery, batik, linocuts and screen-printing.
